This image represents the microstructure of Magnesium oxides on a gold alloy (Au 75% wt). The alloy contains Ag, and Zn also. Such oxides grow on the surface on cooling the alloy from the melting temperature (1300°C) and appear grey when observed with naked eye. The image was obtained in low vacuum mode with the ESEM XL30 TMP Philips Electron Microscope. The small marker at the right bottom of the image represents a length of 10 µm (0.01 mm).To buy a 300 dpi image..
