Here you can see a backscattered electrons image of the microstructure of an Ag-Pd_Cu alloy. The image was obtained by the ESEM XL30 TMP Philips Electron Microscope operated in high vacuum mode. The small marker at the right bottom of the image represents a length of 10 microns (0.01 mm). The backscattered electron detector shows the alloy elemental distribution on a flat surface of the specimen, polished to a mirror-like finishing before the analysis. The brown red phases are Cu and Pd based mainly. Ag concentrates in the light blue matrix. To buy a 300 dpi image.
