Here you can see an interdendritic porosity in a Au-Pd-In alloy casted by the lost wax technique. During the alloy solidification an insufficient feeding of liquid metal causes the voids among the growing dendrites. The image was obtained by the ESEM XL30 TMP Philips Electron Microscope operated in high vacuum mode. The small marker at the left of the image represents a length of 50 microns (0.05 mm).To buy a 300 dpi image.
