Here you can see a backscattered electrons image of the microstructure of a G-AlCu4.6MgTi aluminium alloy. The image was obtained by the ESEM XL30 TMP Philips Electron Microscope operated in high vacuum mode. The small marker at the right bottom of the image represents a length of 100 microns (0.1 mm). The backscattered electron detector shows the alloy elemental distribution on a flat surface of the specimen, polished to a mirror-like finishing before the analysis. The yellow phases in the photograph consist of a combination of alloy elements: Cu, Al and Fe. To buy a 300 dpi image..
